Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Arvvo ("we", "our", or "us"). We operate the website arvvo.app, a platform that helps you discover happy hour deals, date spots, and daily deals at venues across Sydney, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service. It is written to meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. Arvvo is for adults

Arvvo covers licensed venues, happy hours, and deals on alcohol. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and you must be 18 or over to create an account. We ask you to confirm your age when you sign up.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have, we delete it and close the account. If you believe someone under 18 has given us their information, contact us and we will remove it.

3. Information We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address (via email/password or Google Sign-In).
  • Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, such as venues viewed and deals saved.
  • Location data: With your permission, we use your device's precise location to show what is near you and to place you on the map. On the map and nearby-deals screens we keep reading your position while the screen is open, so distances stay correct as you move. Your location is used on your device to work out what is close by, and we do not store it on our servers or share it with venues.
  • Submitted content: If you suggest a deal or claim a venue, we collect the details you provide.
  • Alerts you ask for: If you tap "Notify me" on a venue, we record that you want to hear about deals there. If you add a deal reminder to your calendar, we record that the reminder was created.

You can turn location off at any time in your browser or device settings. Arvvo still works; it just cannot sort by distance.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Arvvo service
  • To personalise your experience (saved deals, nearby venues)
  • To communicate with you about your account or submitted content
  • To process venue claims and deal suggestions
  • To prevent fraud and ensure platform integrity

5. Google Sign-In

We offer sign-in via Google OAuth. When you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers: Trusted third parties that help us operate the platform (e.g. hosting, analytics).
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

7. Storing information overseas

Some of the providers we rely on to run Arvvo — including our application platform, our hosting provider, and Google for sign-in and mapping — operate outside Australia, including in the United States. This means your information may be stored or processed overseas.

We take reasonable steps to use providers that handle personal information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Notifications, cookies, and local storage

If you turn on deal alerts, your browser will ask your permission to show notifications. You can withdraw that permission at any time in your browser settings.

Arvvo stores a small amount of information on your own device so the app remembers your choices between visits — for example, whether you turned deal alerts on, and whether you have dismissed a prompt. This stays on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Data Retention and deleting your account

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile page. This removes your account and the saved venues, saved deals, and alert requests attached to it. If you would rather we did it for you, contact us.

10. Security and data breaches

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Complain if you think we have mishandled your information. Contact us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Contact Us
